Originally from Ohio, Derek currently lives in San Diego, CA. When he's not designing or coming up with killer campaigns, he can usually be found exploring the dungeons of Hyrule with his kids, hailing a Cab Sav with his wife, quoting Die Hard, trying to lift heavy stuff, eating fistfuls of popcorn, and writing in third person.
